But not as soon as you might think! ;)
Exciting news, everyone! My heart is literally in my stomach as I type this: The release date for my third book is officially changing.
When I first signed with my dream publisher, WhiteFire, we talked about releasing all three books four months apart (Diamonds in June, Silver in October, and Emeralds THIS February). I was thrilled to try this new publishing model, and, as all three books were written when I signed my contract, confident I could make it happen.
I’m a little surprised to find myself smiling as I say that, because at one time I worried it might be a “failure” to deviate from the original plan. But I’m finding, in many aspects of my life, deviating from the plan means I’m probably settling deeper into God’s plan. So instead of mourning that my third book will release six months (rather than four) after my second, I’m celebrating it.
I know ya’ll were anticipating reading the rest of Dirk and Gwyn’s story soon, but they have a bit more growing to do. I apologize that you will have to wait just a few more months; as always I am so grateful for your support! Thank you all for all you do (especially commenting here on the blog or connecting with me on social media)!
I thought about quietly changing the release date on this blog’s pages, watching the date switch on Goodreads and Amazon’s pre-order page and breathing in the moment to myself. But I’ve changed my mind. (On a lot of things lately, actually, but that news is for later…) And I’m celebrating the fact that:
The Sound of Emeralds will not release on February 15 (less than a month away, gulp!); it will release on April 15! In the meantime, this book of my heart, which took me an entire year to write (instead of the three months that both Diamonds and Silver required) is getting polishing after polishing. That means that this finale is going to shine, shine, shine as brightly as can be. I’m half relieved/wholly excited about what this means for Dirk and Gwyn.
I’m signing off now; have a great weekend, all!
