It did not disappoint.
This second book of Amber’s is actually the first one she ever wrote, thus it is the prequel to her debut. But no worries about reading them out of order: familiar characters make their way onstage, but the focus is exclusively on David and Elizabeth’s journey.
It truly is a journey, too. From mountain passes to encounters with wild animals to fleeing on a train, the pace of this novel is destined to keep you reading. Amber’s poignant prose and willingness to probe deep will, too.
