Once again, Roseanna White writes a novel that holds me spellbound. Breathtaking scenery accompanies this one, in which Rowena travels from the Highlands–the only home she’s ever known–to England for a marriage that’s both unplanned and well-timed. Not only the scenery and the story draw you in, though; Roseanna’s writing style is second to none. Sometimes I just have to sit back and take in the beauty of a passage, a paragraph, or a page.
I had the privilege of reading this book provided by the publisher for a review during my engagement and wedding planning season, which is why my woefully late review is being posted months after The Reluctant Duchess truly released. I found it hard to say goodbye to Rowena after knowing and reading her story for so long.
This title is taking a treasured place on my bookshelf, among my “Roseanna White collection,” right beside the previous book in this Ladies of the Manor series, The Lost Heiress (which you can read my review of here). I highly recommend it for devourers of historical fiction!
