Rachelle Rea Cobb

make your words work for you

I’m Engaged!

I’ve been keeping a secret from you: and it’s not that I’m engaged. That’s a more recent development.

A very, very happy one! One that I’ve been holding close for over a year now. Over a year. Some of you know how hard it is to keep a secret for a year when sometimes it feels like your whole life is online–or in print in a book. It was kinda difficult and kinda the most natural thing to hold this secret close to my heart for over 365 days.

But today’s the day I come clean and mention that all those sideways comments I sometimes slipped into certain posts and on social media…they all point to one thing.

You see, over the last year, I’ve not only been releasing love stories into the world…

I’ve been falling in love myself. (No, I haven’t been engaged for a year; I’ve just been in my first relationship!)

With the most amazing man in all of time and space.

And on Sunday, he asked me to be his forever and always.

I. Said. Yes.

I knew I would. Since August 29, 2015, I knew I’d marry this man, my man, the one I’ve been waiting for, the one I didn’t see coming.

So forgive me? For keeping a secret for over a year? For I decided to revel in the story-living for a season until I was ready for the story-telling. Good news: I’m ready to tell the story now, our story, of the here and now, of the last year, and of all the dreams for the years to come.

writing Mr. Darcy

To make it easy, I’m capturing them all in one place, on this page, a space just for the story I couldn’t have written any better than the Author of Love Himself. I’ll share more soon, promise…In the meantime, rejoice with me.

I’m getting married to my favorite!

Awwww! Rachelle, how exciting to see an official announcement. :) I admire you for keeping your relationship a secret for a season so that you could honor the process of falling in love.

Happy to be celebrating your love story with you, friend!

Thanks, Amber! (And thanks for squealing with me over his name popping up in the Acknowledgments, pre-official-announcement.) :)

*blissful sigh* I can’t believe you’re going to get married! I love that you waited to spill the beans online until the “big beans” news came along. :) But now I simply can’t wait to hear ALL about your love story, Rachelle.

    Best wishes!
